CR7 Moves Into Flash Pack Mercurial - Football News

Fresh off the back of winning the Ballon d'Or Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Real Madrid training in the new Flash Pack Nike Mercurial Vapor IX to prepare to do it all over again in 2014. The signature CR Galaxy boots have been hung up as Ronaldo embarks on another year of smashing records and winning trophies.

The Flash Pack was launched in December last year across all four Nike silos. Each boot featured a predominantly Tonal Silver upper that used reflective technology on the heel to rebound light. The reflective block on each boot was designed in a pattern inspired both some of natures most stealth-like creatures with the Mercurial adopting a leopard-like design in homage to the boots speed heritage.



Ronaldo wore five different colourways of the Vapor IX on his route to picking up the Ballon d'Or. Kicking off 2013 in one of just 100 limited edition CR7 boots to mark his achievements from the previous year, Ronaldo then moved into the Fireberry update which he wore up until March where he slipped into his first signature colourway of the year - the white/volt/crimson versions, CR's sixth signature boot.

Cristiano kicked off the 2013/14 season wearing the Volt summer release colourway before moving into his signature CR Galaxy edition Mercurial in October, which he wore for the first time in El Clasico, right up until the new year.
 

The year 2014 marks a new challenge for Ronaldo, setting his standards high the Real Madrid man will look to better his incredible year and he'll start that journey by lacing up in the new Flash Pack Mercurial Vapor IX. Although the Flash Pack covers all of Nike's silos Ronaldo will be the only one of Nike's contracted players to sport the boots on pitch, all other players will remain in the standard edition colourways.

Not used to wearing boots that aren't his own signature range Ronaldo has added his initials to his Flash Mercurials to give his boots a sense of ownership. The CR Mercurial collection is already strong and with another Ballon d'Or under his belt we sense that an eighth exclusive boot isn't too far away.
